Does it really make that much of a difference where you choose to print your photos? Is a professional print lab really that much better than a local printer? Truth? Yes. Yes 100% matters.

There are lot of local printers available for couples; Walmart, Staples, Walgreens Target, Cosco……. Or you can print directly from your photographer from a national professional photo lab. In our experience, local prints never show accuracy or consistancy.
“The [photo] from Walmart was one of the prints that was dramatically different than my original. There is a very obvious pink/magenta tone and the contrast was increased so much that my daughter’s legs look extremely dark and her dress has lost the details.” -MyCLICKMAGAZINE.COM
I was very surprised at just how much the color was off ..from Target. The blue in the water is neon blue and the overall image is lighter. There also seems to be more yellow in the photo — in her hair and parts of the white clouds. ” – MyCLICKMAGAZINE.COM
Our professional photo labs have a vested interest in keeping their professional customers happy. They are going to make sure the machines are properly calibrated and color balanced at all times. Local printers, to have dirt-cheap prices and print instantly, can use lower quality materials. Consumer photo labs simply don’t usually have the expertise or the specialized calibration equipment to offer expect level of color precision.
Photo printing is what professional print labs do. It’s their focus and their forte. Because of this, they train their employees far more extensively than consumer labs do, resulting in a higher quality product with fewer mistakes made along the way. What’s more, professional labs typically have more quality control measures in place than consumer labs, for whom photo printing is a tiny slice of their overall business.
- Professional Photo Labs Use Superior Ink and Chemicals
- Professional Photo labs often do Color Correction, it’s usually performed by automated software to ensure the image on your photo/computer screen is portrayed correctly on paper
- Professional Photo Labs Use Professional Grade Printers
For this reason, we cannot guarantee the quality of our prints if they are printed elsewhere.
